Wind Down ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you use the Wind Down iOS application and the website at winddown.online (together, the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to this Policy.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide. Profile name and optional profile photo, journal entries, feeling states, audio settings, and any messages you send us via the contact form or email.

Automatically collected information. Basic device data (device type, OS version, anonymized identifiers), crash logs, and aggregated usage analytics to improve the app. The website uses essential cookies and, with your consent, analytics cookies.

Information we do not collect. We do not collect precise location, contacts, photos library, microphone audio, or health data unless you explicitly grant such access on a future feature.

2. How we use information

• Provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
• Personalize your in-app experience (name, profile photo, preferences).
• Diagnose technical issues and prevent abuse.
• Respond to your support requests.

3. Data storage

Journal entries, feelings, and profile data are stored locally on your device by default. If we introduce optional cloud sync in the future, we will request your consent and explain how the data is encrypted in transit and at rest.

4. Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share limited data with service providers (e.g., analytics, crash reporting) that are bound by confidentiality and that process data only on our behalf. We may disclose information when required by law.

Wind Down is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to withdraw consent. You can exercise most rights directly in the app (edit profile, delete entries, uninstall) or by contacting us at privacy@winddown.online.

We use commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

8. Third-party services

The App Store distribution and in-app purchases (if any) are handled by Apple Inc. and subject to Apple's privacy practices.

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own. We take steps to ensure an adequate level of protection in accordance with applicable law.

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the app or on the website with a new "Last updated" date.
